Hepatitis A Virus antibody is a specific antibody against hepatitis A.HAV is mainly transmitted by the hand-to-mouth route and has an incubation period of 15-50 days, with an average of 28 days.The virus is often present inthe patient’s blood and stool 5-6 days before the patient’s serum ALT rises.After 2-3 weeks of illness, theinfectiousness of the serum and feces gradually disappears with the production of specific antibodies in the serum.
lt is used for the qualitative detection of antibodies to hepatitis A virus in human serum, plasma or whole bloodsamples, thus aiding clinical diagnosis of whether humans are infected with hepatitis A virus, and can be used toassist in the early diagnosis of hepatitis A.
Operation steps and result interpretation
1. Positive (+):Two purple-red bands appear.One is located in the detection area (T), and the other is located in the quality control area (c).
2. Negative (-): only a purple-red band appears in the quality control area(C).There is no purple-red band in the detection area (T).
3. lnvalid: There is no purple-red band in the quality control area (C). indicating incorrect handling ordeterioration of the reagent.
