When the gastrointestinal bleeding occurs, the red blood cells in the blood are digested, decomposed, and destroyed. The stool contains bleeding that cannot be proved by the naked eye and under the microscope, which is called fecal occult blood. Many diseases such as colorectal cancer, colitis, digestive ulcers and other diseases are asymptomatic in the early stage, and there is occult blood in the stool. Early colorectal cancer refers to those whose lesions are limited to the mucosal layer or submucosal layer without invading the muscular layer, and are often in the stage without symptoms. Therefore, the presence of trace hemoglobin in the stool is the only abnormal phenomenon that can be detected in early colorectal cancer.

• Negative (-): Only a purple-red band appears in the quality control area (C). There is no purple-red band in the detection area (T).

• Positive (+): Two purple-red bands appear. One is located in the detection area (T), and the other is located in the quality control area (C).

• Invalid: There is no purple-red band in the quality control area(C).
