Adenovrus infects the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal trat, urinary tract and bladder, eyes and liver. About 1/3of the known serotypes of human adenovirus are usually as socated with human disease, but one serotype cancause different clinical disorders; conversely, different serotypes can cause the same dsorder. In contrast to themajority of respiratory tract infections, the body is effectively immune to reinfection with ade novirus. Protection isprovided by the production of circulating neutralis ing antibodies.
This product is used for the qualitative detection of adenovirus antigens in faecal samples from infants and children.
Positive (+): Two purple-red bands appear. One is located in the detection area (T), and the other is located inthe quality controlarea(c).
Negative (-): Only a purple-red band appears in the quality control area (C).There is no purple-red band in thedetectionarea (T).
Invald: There is no purple-red band in the quality controlarea(C).In any case, it should be retested.
